Kristen Baldermann serves as the Director of Special Education for Union School District 81, where she leads and supports special education programming, services, and compliance while working collaboratively with students, families, educators, and community partners. With more than 16 years of experience in education, Kristen began her career in the classroom and has served as both a general education and special education teacher before transitioning into district-level leadership.

Kristen holds endorsements and credentials in special education, educational leadership, and special education administration. Her experience across general education, special education, intervention, and administration has shaped her belief that meeting the needs of students is a shared responsibility. She is committed to creating inclusive learning environments, strengthening collaboration between families and educators, and ensuring that students receive the individualized supports and opportunities they need to learn, grow, and be successful.
