Topic 9: Numbers to 1,000 – Students will understand place value to 1,000 by using place-value blocks and drawings to model and write 3-digit numbers. They will identify the place of a number by its value and learn to write numbers in expanded, standard, and word form.
Students will spend approximately 3 weeks close reading Theodore Roosevelt: The Adventurous President and Marching with Aunt Susan. During the read aloud students will practice vocabulary & reading analysis skills. Post reading students will practice their informative/explanatory writing skills. The students will research an American who did something special to help our country.
Topic: Mapping Our World – Students will learn about different forms of land and bodies of water. Students will use their Chromebooks to research the different types of land forms and be able to identify them by their characteristics. Students will make flap books and a 3D craftivity to demonstrate their knowledge of land forms.
